The practice uses eConsult appointment triage system -
This helps reduce the waiting list backlog on the telphones, improves patients expierience through specialist triage questions and hybrid consultation tools.
Complete an online form here (eConsult)
How it works:
eConsult is free to use for NHS patients.
You can use eConsult to ask your GP surgery about your health symptoms, conditions or treatment. You can also request sick / fit notes and GP Letters.
- Find your symptom, condition or request
- Fill out a quick form with traige questions
- The practice will respond with advice, prescription or an appointment.
We understand not all patients are able to use our eConsult system.
Alternatively appointments can be requested via person by coming into surgery from 8.00am to complete a form.
Why does the receptionist need to ask what’s wrong with me?
Our reception staff are important members of the practice team and it has been agreed they should ask patients ‘why they need to be seen’.
We have trained our reception staff to ask certain questions to help make sure you receive:
- The most appropriate medical care;
- From the most appropriate health professional;
- At the most appropriate time
Reception staff, like all members of our team, are bound by patient confidentiality.
As a registered patient you will have the right to an appointment regardless of how long it may have been since your last attendance. Nevertheless, the practice may, at its discretion, ask you to attend for a patient health check.
If we are unable to offer you an appointment but you require urgent medical attention, you should contact NHS 111 and, depending on your situation you will:
- Find out what local service can help you
- connected to a nurse, emergency dentist, pharmacist or GP
- Get a face-to-face appointment if you need one
- Be given an arrival time if you need to go to A&E – this might mean you spend less time in A&E
- Be told how to get any medicine you need
- Get self-care advice
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you can not make your appointment let us know as soon as you can so another patient can book the appointment time.
It is your responsibility to keep your appointment. If you DNA an appointment and you have more than 3 without reason or informing the practice, the surgery will remove you from the records.
You can cancel or change your appointment:
If you need help when we are closed
- Use NHS 111 online (111.nhs.uk) or call 111. 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
- Out of hours information
- If it’s a life-threatening emergency call 999.
