Prescription requests Posted or Updated on 4 Sep 2023

We have recently untaken an Audit and have established that 70% of calls made to the practice are patients ordering prescriptions.

We have also listened to feedback from patients both old & new, so we have changed our policy on ordering repeat prescription via telephone to alleviate the current pressures on the phone lines.

As from Monday 25th April 2022, we are no longer accepting prescription requests over the telephone. This is to ensure all patient calls are dealt with in a timely manner. If you require a repeat prescription, this can be ordered by your nominated pharmacy, via email on OLDCCG.icgmedlock@nhs.net or in the red box downstairs in the foyer.

This will be in place for all patients, we will not tolerate any verbal abuse to staff via telephone in regards to repeat prescriptions. If you are late ordering or need a prescription urgently, the process still remains the same.

We will still strive to process all repeat prescriptions within a 48 hour period.
